#ESDfor2030 💚 – the beginning of a new decade

Many of you are already aware of the upcoming ESD for 2030 Framework that will guide our work in promoting the role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the SDGs. You now have the opportunity to join UNESCO for a global series of online workshops on how to transform society through learning with ESD. Find out more about the series of workshops. In the first event on 9 September 2020, our dear friend and colleague, Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), will contribute with an impulse on key questions and issues of sustainable lifestyles and the role of ESD. Please register for the event here. In addressing the current pandemic, UNESCO has called upon governments to build back better and helping to define the next normal. We need to transform today´s education towards ESD to meet the climate emergency and the Agenda 2030. ESD reassesses what we learn, where we learn and how we learn to ensure we develop the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that enable us to make informed decisions and actions on global problems such as the climate crisis and the COVID-19 crisis.
