MP Ryan Turnbull Visits Keele Campus

In July, we welcomed Whitby MP Ryan Turnbull for a discussion of York’s social procurement policy, a meeting with YSpace entrepreneurs, and a tour of York’s Social Innovation Hub. It was a great opportunity to demonstrate the many ways in which York University supports small businesses and the local community.

Roundtable with Minister Valdez and MP Sgro

In September, we were thrilled to host Minister of Small Business Rechie Valdez and local MP Judy Sgro on campus for a discussion and showcase with founders of YSpace-supported businesses. These included Mississauga eatery Honey Soul Food, portable electric vehicle charging company Kiwi Charge, specialized fertility tracking services provider Fibra, as well as gourmet snacks purveyor EATABLE Popcorn, high-end chocolatiers One More Cocoa, and healthy frozen desert maker Nanashake.

Relationship agreement ensures Indigenous priorities are included in future of health care

In a spirit of fostering healing and reconciliation, York University and the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) signed a relationship agreement on September 12 at Keele Campus as a first step toward developing joint initiatives and advancing Indigenous health priorities.
