About the Event
The EE Faculty Celebration Event highlighted diverse examples of classroom-focused, community-focused, and work-focused experiential education (EE) and how faculty members have engaged employer and community partners in facilitating innovative EE opportunities. The event provided a chance to network with faculty members who have developed and facilitated these opportunities for their students. This event was focused primarily for our faculty and staff colleagues engaged with and interested in experiential education.
This multi-disciplinary, annual event was held on February 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom.
NEW! EE Faculty Celebration Podcast Series
The EE Faculty Celebration Podcast Series acts as a companion piece to the yearly EE Faculty Celebration and EE Symposium events. This series aims to highlight diverse examples of classroom-focused, community-focused and work-focused experiential education and how faculty members have engaged employer and community partners in facilitating innovative EE opportunities.
In this installment of the EE Faculty Celebration Podcast Series, Lina Brand Correa, assistant professor in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, speaks with Aleksandar Golijanin, EE Coordinator at the Glendon Campus, about her experience organising and facilitating an experiential education field trip through the graduate course EU/ENVS 6121 3.00 Community, Energy and Planning. In her work more broadly, Lina has explored issues related to energy from a social sciences perspective and why we use energy in the way we do.
In this installment of the EE Faculty Celebration Podcast Series, Gillian Helfield (Sessional Assistant Professor) and Caroline Klimek (Sessional Lecturer and PhD Candidate) from the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design speak with Aleksandar Golijanin, EE Coordinator at the Glendon Campus, about their experience organising and facilitating work placement opportunities for students through the course FA/CMA 4191 Field Placement for Cinema & Media Studies/Media Arts. Gillian and Caroline share their successes, the hardships they experienced particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and their aspirations for the future of the course.
