Think RED for Homecoming!

Calling all students, faculty and staff: celebrate the York spirit! Wear RED all weekend!

Join alumni in all the festivities at this year’s Homecoming Oct. 4 – 6. You’ll see our football stars return triumphantly to our home turf amid a “red sea” of very vocal York fans…. Free parking is available all day in lot 5. There’s even free admission to Black Creek Pioneer Village for all students, staff, faculty and alumni with York ID.

There are so many events scheduled there are bound to be several to suit everyone’s tastes. Take a peek at some of the happenings listed below, then check the Homecoming Web site for all the details and full list of games, parties, music etc: www.yorku.ca/homecoming.

Some of the Oct. 5 highlights of the whole extravaganza are:

– the York is U…You are the Cure Charity Walk, 9am registration, walk from 10 -11:30am at the stadium ticket booth;

– Homecoming Festival, 11:30am – 1:30pm, York Stadium, preceded by the Homecoming Parade of alumni, students, faculty and staff – wearing red. The first 1,700 ticket holders at the stadium for the festival will be treated to a free BBQ provided by Alumni Services. Even those not lucky enough for the free BBQ can still have a great time visiting displays, watching buskers,listening to Djs and going to the beer garden;

– Alumni Game-Women’s Waterpolo, 11:30am – 1pm, Tait McKenzie Pool;

– Windsor@York football game, 2pm York Stadium – Come cheer the Yeomen on to victory against the Windsor Lancers! Admission is free for York students with current sessional card and photo ID and for children under 12, $5 for adults and $3 for non-York students.

Don’t forget – Homecoming begins on Friday, Oct. 4!
