The Schulich School of Business at York University is ranked among the top 20 schools in world according to The Economist magazine’s new global survey of MBA programs released today.
Schulich was ranked 17th in the world. It is the highest placement ever achieved by a Canadian business school in a global ranking of the world's 100 best. The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Schulich's partner in the Joint Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA, was ranked as the number one MBA program.
Four other Canadian schools -- the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario (40th), University of British Columbia Commerce (51), Queen's (59) and McGill (82) -- were the other Canadian schools to make The Economist Top 100 ranking.
The first ever ranking by The Economist measured the ability of business schools to provide new career opportunities, personal development and educational experience, increased salary, and networking opportunities. In addition to data supplied by the schools, more than 18,000 MBA students and alumni were surveyed to provided qualitative assessments of MBA programs.
The survey measured such criteria as diversity of recruiters, job search success, faculty quality, student quality (average GMAT score), student diversity, education experience, post-MBA salary increase, and breadth of alumni network.
Dezsö J. Horváth, dean of the Schulich School of Business, said: "We're extremely pleased to have been ranked among the top 20 programs in the world. The Economist is the one of the most prestigious and widely read business publications in the world, and this new survey provides one of the most comprehensive global rankings of MBA programs."
