A host of eyes and lenses were on Graham Huber, a third-year student in the York University/Sheridan College Joint Program in Design, when he won the Silver Award and a Kodak EasyShare DX4900 Digital Camera + Kodak EasyShare in the second annual Graphic Exchange Digital Art Awards in Toronto last week.
Huber is known at York for his role on the work-study team which developed the official Design program Web site. His work has also been featured in SBS Digital Design, Photo Electric Imaging magazine, and Secrets of Award-Winning Digital Artists: Creative Techniques and Insights for Photoshop®, Painter and More, by Jeremy Sutton and Daryl Wise (Wiley Publishing, 2002). Previously, he has been awarded first place (Student) at Macworld Expony 2002 and first place (Student) at Seybold Seminars, New York, 2002. The awards event was hosted by television personality Erica Ehm and sponsored in part by Apple, Adobe, AGFA, Comstock, Corel, Heidelberg, Macromedia, and Xerox. A panel of distinguished judges from the digital art community independently ranked and chose the winning images.
Graphic Exchange was established in 1991 as a print publication for the graphic arts and graphic communications industries. It is published bi-monthly, with a circulation of 20,000 across North America.
