Allen Lambert — service time

As some of you may be aware, Allen Lambert, a long time friend of York University, recently passed away. Allen was a founding governor of York, and the recipient of an honorary degree from the University. He had a distinguished business career, serving as President, CEO and Chair of The Toronto Dominion Bank, and subsequently as consultant and director with the Brascan Group. He was an active volunteer in the community, and received both the Order of Canada and the Order of Japan.

Many of you were fortunate to know Allen and will want to attend a service for him Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2pm, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Ave. East. A reception following the service will be held at the York Club, 135 St. George Street.

The family has made a very kind gesture, and requested that those wishing to make charitable donations, send contributions to the York University Foundation. We have therefore created the Allen Lambert Fund. Anyone interested in making a donation should call ext. 20951.

Allen was a special person and will be missed.
