Ontario University Athletics (OUA) recently announced the track and field major award winners as well as the nominees for the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) awards.
York”s Marlon Nangle was named OUA Male Rookie of the Year and head coach Colin Inglis was named the recipient of the Sue Wise Women”s Coach of the Year award.
Nangle was named the OUA Male Rookie of the Year for his gold and bronze medal performances in the triple and long jump respectively. The Oakville native, who is ranked in the top 10 nationally, jumped personal bests in both events. He also was part of the Yeomen”s 4x200m relay team that finished fourth at the championship.
Colin Inglis is the fourth-year head coach who has guided the Yeowomen to a fourth-place finish at the OUA Championship and a top six ranking in Canada. As an athlete, Inglis was a three-time All-Canadian, MVP of the York track and field team and a New Brunswick Canadian team representative for the 1989 and 1994 Francophone Games.
