Kent Haworth fellowship, memorial service

To honour the memory of University Archivist Kent Haworth, right, who died on Jan. 31, 2003, York University is establishing a fellowship to be awarded annually to a doctoral student from any discipline from anywhere in the world, whose intent is to use the archival holdings of York University in his or her research. Contributions are welcome and tax receipts will be issued to Canadian contributors. The University’s goal is to raise $25,000.

There will be a memorial service for Haworth on March 20, at which time further details about the fellowship will be available. For immediate information on how to make a donation, contact Jim Allen at the York University Foundation, jimallen@yorkfoundation.yorku.ca, ext. 58013.

The memorial service is on Thursday, March 20, is at 3:30pm at the Scott Religious Centre, and will be followed by a reception in the Scott Library.
