Killam Research Fellowship
The Canada Council national Killam Research Fellowship Program is designed to recognize and support distinguished Canadian scholars who have established an outstanding reputation in their area of research. The Killam awards are intended to support scholars of exceptional ability engaged in research projects of broad significance and widespread interest. The purpose of a Killam Research Fellowship is to provide release time from teaching and administrative duties to an individual scholar who wishes to pursue independent research.
Value:
Killam Research Fellowships provide funds to allow for teaching replacement, to a maximum of $53,000 per year, for up to two years.
National Program in Financial Services and Public Policy
The Schulich School of Business National Program in Financial Services and Public Policy is an initiative of the school’s Financial Services Program. The national program has over $1 million available over the next four years to fund applied research into public policy and the financial services sector. Research proposals must be focused on advancing knowledge in a specifically defined area related to financial services and public policy. They must have a sound theoretical basis, and should move the state of knowledge beyond theory to an understanding of the practical implications for institutions, policymakers and regulators.
Value:
$30,000 per year, for up to two years.
The Ontario Cancer Research Network
The Ontario Cancer Research Network recently announced a Request for Applications for its third competition for grants to support translational research leading to improved cancer therapies. The OCRN will consider proposals ranging from early in vitro identification of a potential therapeutic target through pre-clinical validation, to the development of potential novel compounds.
Average funding:
$150,000 per year, for a maximum of three years.
The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation of Canada
The Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation of Canada invites applications for grants to support biomedical research into intellectual impairment, especially as it affects children, and the causes and cure of Alzheimer’s Disease. The focus of the research should be on the causes and cure of the disease as opposed to the active treatment or palliative care.
Value:
$35,000 per year, for up to three years.
