Engineers Without Borders recently had a successful launch of a campus chapter called EWB@York. EWB co-founder George Roter, University of Toronto chapter president Anna Macdonald and York chapter president Michael Ilnicki spoke to some 40 students and faculty members attending. Afterwards, 20 joined the non-profit organization devoted to using technology to help reduce poverty in the developing world.
Members of EWB worldwide have given expertise on projects to improve water and sanitation, food production, health and hygiene, and communications and information technology in Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean.
