Time to take Pride

Left: Rainbow flag for Pride Week

Help celebrate Pride at York by attending the flag raising ceremony at the York Flagpole on the east side of York Common at 12:30pm on Monday, June 23.

York University is joining the City of Toronto in marking Monday as the first day of Pride Week 2003. This is the fourth year that York has raised the rainbow flag to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and transgendered students, staff and faculty who are part of the York community.

The 2003 Pride theme is 3D: Diverse, Defiant, Divine. Raising the flag for Pride Week is one of the many opportunities that the University takes throughout the year to recognize York's diversity.

Join the York contingent of the Pride Parade by meeting at the York Information Booth in front of 43 Wellesley Street East at 1pm, Sunday, June 29.

For more information on York's involvement in Pride Week, contact the York Sexual & Gender Diversity Advisory Group, ext. 55500.
