Construction will begin this week on the new Tennis Canada project, located south of Shoreham Drive and west of Stong Pond. Completion is scheduled for the end of July 2004, in time for the ATP Men’s Tennis Tournament.
The project includes construction of a 12,500 seat world-class open air tennis stadium and a Centre of Excellence training facility, and development of an approximately 14-acre campus with outdoor courts.
The project incorporates an ecological management and rehabilitation plan that has been developed by Tennis Canada in consultation with SNC-Lavalin Engineers & Constructors, Robbie/Young & Wright Architects, R.V. Anderson Associates and Cosburn Giberson Landscape Architects.
While this is not a York University project, Facilities Development will be providing regular updates on the progress of the project, informing the community of any disruptions or road closures. If you have questions about the project send an e-mail to muddy@fbo.yorku.ca.
