Cannabis crusader Alan Young, a professor at York’s Osgoode Hall Law School, says Ottawa continues to do little to help seriously ill Canadians who smoke pot to ease pain and discomfort, reported The Record in Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo July 29. Young said the abysmal actions taken by government to provide marijuana for medicinal use are cumbersome and beyond the reach of people suffering from a variety of illnesses, including multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, liver diseases and AIDS. His remarks appeared in a story about the efforts of a Kitchener medical-marijuana user he represents to attend another court challenge of Canada’s marijuana laws in Toronto, said The Record.
