Join VP Neuman on a sightseeing adventure

Want to know what arts and crafts catch the eye of York VP Students and Alumni Bonnie Neuman? If you join her on a 1,000 Islands Artists Studio and Crafts Tour Sept. 19-21, you might find out. But with September almost here, you should book soon.

The Alumni Office is organizing the trip, which it bills as a sightseeing adventure that takes you along beautiful country roads, past lakes, rolling hills and forests, to meet some of Ontario’s most interesting artists. Neuman is the trip host and, says the Alumni Office, “plans to enjoy the gorgeous fall colours while she shops for unique arts & crafts for holiday gift-giving.”

The studios are in fascinating settings, befitting an artist. Some are nestled in a forest or positioned at the edge of a limestone cliff overlooking a lake; others are snuggled in a valley with long-horned cattle roaming a hillside or in one of the beautiful 1820s limestone farmhouses, to name just a few locations.

The excursion begins in Toronto, meanders through Prince Edward County and then wends its way to Kingston, where participants will spend two nights.

The cost is $475 per person, double occupancy; $160 single supplement. This includes return transportation from Toronto, all accommodations, most meals, ground transportation and excursions as noted in the itinerary.
