Throngs of senior high-school students and their families and friends converged upon the recent seventh annual Ontario Universities Fair, and headed to York’s eye-catching new booth. Its design and brochures were integrated across all faculties in one central look and message. Standing alongside displays from the province’s other 19 universities, the York booth was serviced by several members of the University’s faculty, staff and students.
Don Murdoch, manager of national recruitment and special events in York's Liaison & Recruitment unit of the Office of Admissions, sent this account to YFile.
The seventh annual Ontario Universities' Fair, held Sept. 25- to 27 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, was a great success. Attendance over the three-day event was estimated at 60,000 students, parents and guidance counsellors.

Interest in York programs was stronger than ever as tens of thousands of interested people stopped by our exhibit booth to collect recruitment literature and ask questions about programs and admissions.
Hundreds of York staff, faculty and student volunteers were on hand and happy to share their expertise and experience.
York’s booth had a new theme and look this year with 30 large full-colour photographs hung across the bright red and white display.
Colleagues from other Ontario universities complimented York on the fresh, contemporary look of the booth and the recruitment material – perfect representations of York's modern pioneering spirit.
One floor up from the exhibit hall, members of the University’s recruitment team gave hourly presentations about degree programs, admission requirements and campus life. These presentations were well-attended and the path between the York presentation room and exhibit booth was a busy route throughout the fair.
Congratulations to Team York!
