York to host CIS National Field Hockey Championship

York University will host the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Field Hockey Championship, Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at Appleby College in Oakville.


York is making its 19th appearance in the National Championship tournament. The Lions will join Canada West champs UBC, Canada West finalists Victoria, OUA champion Waterloo, OUA finalists Western and AUS champion Saint Mary's in the six-team, four-day tournament.


UBC and Victoria have combined to win the past six national titles with the Vikes defeating the Thunderbirds 2-0 in last year's gold medal game.


Tournament passes and daily tickets can be purchased on site. Prices and the tournament schedule are listed below.

  • $3 students/senior citizens
  • 12 years and under free
  • Tournament Passes:
  • $15 adults
  • $9 students
  • School Team Package - $15/day (Groups of 10 or more)
