York Faculty of Arts history Professor Craig Heron has been a guest on numerous national media programs recently, discussing his book Booze: A Distilled History. As of Dec. 18, Heron had completed 20 radio interviews and two TV spots, including CBC National syndicated radio interviews broadcast across the country, from Cape Breton to Nunavut. He will also appear in an interview on “The Bill Good Show” in Vancouver, due to air on Jan. 2, 2004.

- York humanities professor Norma Rowen was on “Business at Noon” on CKGL-AM Kitchener on Dec. 18, commenting on the third Lord of the Rings movie, The Return of the King, which opened recently in Toronto. Rowen, a professor of Humanities, specializes in fantasy and children’s literature, and is currently teaching an upper-level course on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Tolkien is the author of the Lord of the Rings trilogy on which the movies are based.
