The St. Francis Xavier X-Men have advanced to the final at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Men’s Hockey Championship in Fredericton, New Brunswick, for the second straight year. The X-Men scored a 4-0 victory over the York University Lions during the semifinal game on Saturday, March 27. With the loss, the Lions were eliminated from the CIS Championship.
St. Francis Xavier (2-0) finished first in Pool B followed by Dalhousie (1-1) and York (0-2).
“I’m proud of my players,” said Lions head coach Graham Wise. “They battled hard all year and are probably the best character team I’ve coached.”
