York University is joining the City of Toronto in marking Monday, June 21, as the first day of Pride Week 2004, whose theme this year is Bursting with Fruit Flavours!
You can help celebrate Pride at York by attending the flag-raising ceremony at the flagpole on the east side of the Common, next to the Ian Macdonald Bldg., at noon that day. This is the fifth year that the University has raised the rainbow flag to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and transgendered students, staff and faculty who are part of the York community. Raising the flag for Pride Week is one of the many opportunities that the University takes throughout the year to recognize York's diversity.
For the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 27, join the University’s contingent by meeting at 1pm at the York Information Booth in The Community Fair (Booth #84) on Wellesley St., between Yonge & Church Streets, Toronto).
