Two of the toughest rugby teams in the world are going head to head on Canadian soil. The match – which will pit the rugby titans in a hard-hitting, fast game – will take place at the York Stadium at 2pm on Saturday, July 10.
Canada has a well-deserved reputation for its aggressive, hard tackling defence and France is famous for its unpredictable and devastating attacking style. This match will provide the fierce, physical and exciting rugby fans love to watch. Facing France will be the first of many challenges the Canadian team will encounter as it begins its four-year march towards the next Rugby World Cup. The last time Canada faced France was in 2002 and France came out on top.
There will also be a festival of curtain-raiser games involving 16 representative teams from Ontario and Quebec, showcasing some of Eastern Canada’s finest young rugby talent. The post-game grand finale will be the Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL) All-Star game. The top RCSL players from Canada East and Canada West will compete against each other to establish who really has the strongest division.
