You still have a week to catch student Emily Simek’s portrait exhibit at York’s Samuel J. Zacks Art Gallery. The exhibit, In Pieces, features 
realistic portraits and self-portraits in pencil and paint displayed in the basement gallery at Stong College until Feb. 3.

Simek, a visual art student at York, says, “I paint what I’ve seen, felt or thought.” She explores notions of identity, family and a personal life landscape in her paintings and drawings of people and place.
Zacks Gallery is open Monday to Friday 11:30am-4pm in Room 109 Stong College. Admission is free.
