Theatre Glendon presents La Leçon by Eugène Ionesco Feb. 3-5.
For her last university production, York student Esther Wolf wanted to direct a piece that seemed serious. La Leçon was the perfect dark, yet absurd, text Wolf could turn into entertainment. Who said Ionesco had to be scary? Even though the social and political climate has changed very much since Ionesco's time, some human misbehaviours are timeless. And Wolf uses physical theatre and clowning to make fun of them. Come see Ionesco like you've never seen him before.
Performances are in French and take place Feb. 3 at 5:30pm and Feb. 4 and 5 at 8pm in York Hall on the Glendon campus. Admission is pay-what-you-can. To reserve tickets, call the box office at 416-487-6822.
