The Samuel J. Zacks Art Gallery located in Stong College, Keele campus, is showing an exhibit titled Derailed which features the work of Nicky Bonnaventure, an emerging local artist and fourth-year student in York’s Visual Arts Program, Faculty of Fine Arts.
In Derailed, Bonnaventure presents a moving reflective body of work that captures select “life” moments. Following a theme of identity, Derailed is a journey expressing the desire to remember and establish a sense of self. Bonnaventure experiments with space and time to convey the physical movement of her subject, drawing viewers towards the beautiful human entity.
