The Schulich China Business Forum (SCBF) is a student-run, professional business conference dedicated to an in-depth discussion on the pressing issues of Canada-China business relations, as well as a sharing of Canada’s leading companies’ business practices in China. The forum will take place on Friday, March 18, at the Schulich School of Business, York University. It is a one-day event comprised of panel discussions, keynote speech and networking sessions.
China is now the seconnd largest trade partner of both Canada and the US, and organizers have developed the forum to provide material to enable business students to better understand the challenges and opportunities this relationship presents for them.
Twenty distinguished guest speakers and panelists representing business, academia and the governments of both Canada and China will speak at the forum. The five panels will cover a variety of spotlight issues related business between Canada and China, and involve four cornerstone industries of Canada, including the technical, financial services, mining and the automobile sector. Panelists and guest speakers will share their first hand experiences in Chinese business, discuss the opportunities that exist for Canadian business to participate in the Chinese market, and exchange their insights into the policies and business environment of China. At the SCBF, participants will:
- Interact with some of Canada’s most important persons in Canada-China relations in five panels, two networking sessions, one keynote speeches and a buffet luncheon;
- Understand Canada’s leading companies and industries’ Chinese experiences and China strategies and identify business and career opportunitie;
- Network with tens of business leaders, professionals and talented students from Canada’s top business schools;
- Receive tailored aids for networking;
- Receive guest speakers’ presentation materials and contact information for over 150 of the forum’s attendees.
