Osgoode student awarded third prize in prestigious essay competition

Justice William A. Gorewich of the Ontario Court of Justice, on behalf of the the American Judges Association and the American Judges Foundation, presented a cheque for US $1,000 and a commemorative plaque on Dec. 5 to third-year Osgoode LLB/MBA student Michael Abdelkerim.

Abdelkerim was awarded third prize in the 2005 American Judges Association and American Judges Foundation Law Student Essay Competition for his essay titled “Section 273.65 of the National Defence Act: Inappropriate and Unconstitutional”. Osgoode Hall Law School also received a certificate of achievement in recognition of the essay.
