The York Lions football team looks for its first win of the season this weekend when the team plays host to the visiting Toronto Varsity Blues in the 37th annual Red & Blue Bowl. The game, which kicks off at 2pm on Saturday at York Stadium, will be shown live nationally on The Score television network.

York has dominated the Red & Blue Bowl of late, winning each of the past 11 meetings. Toronto holds the all-time head-to-head record, 22-14. Last season saw one of the bowl’s most exciting games as the Lions needed overtime to post a 40-33 victory.
York and Toronto are both winless this season. York fell to 0-4 on the year after a 37-3 loss to the No. 5-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees, while Toronto was thumped 66-14 by the Guelph Gryphons. It was the Blues’ 37th straight loss.
This game means more than a win in the Ontario University Athletics regular season for both teams as it symbolizes bragging rights in the city of Toronto. The winner also receives the Argo Cup, which was donated by the Toronto Argonauts in 1992.
Tickets for the game are $8 for adults and $5 for non-York students and seniors. As always, York students get into the game for free.
