Business students hold panel on environmental sustainability

The Business & Society Student Club hosted a symposium on corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability Oct. 16.

Co-hosted by the Faculty of Arts and the Division of Social Science, the symposium featured a panel discussion aimed at sparking debate about the role of corporations in society and their efforts towards environmental sustainability.

Participating in the panel (right) discussion were: Darryl Reed, Chair of York’s Division of Social Science, who began the discussion of business ethics and the environment; Chris Tindal, a Toronto Centre Green Party candidate in the last federal election, who provided a political perspective on environmental sustainability; David Frank, director of research and development for Hydrogenics Power Systems, of Mississauga, who described a corporate initiative in environmental degeneration; and Irene Henriques, professor at York’s Schulich School of Business, who talked about environmental management and sustainability.
