York Libraries offer introductory sessions for new faculty

The York University Libraries is hosting an orientation session for all new faculty. The library orientation session will be offered on Monday, Aug. 27, from 10 to 11:30am. It will be repeated on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 1 to 2:30pm. Both sessions will be held in room 531 of the Scott Library.

Designed to be practical and hands-on, the session will introduce new faculty to the wide variety of resources and services available through the York University Libraries. A large number of topics will be covered in the orientation, these include: acquiring a library card; creating a RACER account for interlibrary loans; placing material on reserve; and suggesting new material for York’s collections. A question and answer session will follow the orientation session.

New faculty who are planning to attend the orientation session on Monday, Aug. 27, should RSVP by e-mail to Sarah Coysh, assistant librarian, Leslie Frost Library, Glendon campus at scoysh@yorku.ca, by the end of today. The deadline for registering for the Sept. 5 session is Sept. 4.
