Former United Church of Canada archive technician comes to York

Julia Holland has been appointed as archives assistant with the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections of York University, announced Michael Moir, University archivist & head of the archives, on Oct. 1.

Holland, who worked for almost eight years with the United Church of Canada / Victoria University Archives in Toronto, will begin at York on Oct. 10.

A graduate of the University of Toronto and the Archives Technician Program at Algonquin College, Holland brings the benefits of experience gained during previous placements with community, municipal, health, and religious and university archives in Ontario.

The students, faculty and public who use York’s archival holdings and rare books will greatly benefit from her knowledge, skill and dedication to archives, as well as an enthusiasm and sense of humour that she frequently shared with her colleagues through her volunteer work with the Toronto Area Archivists Group and the Archives Association of Ontario, said Moir.
