Sociologist Robynne Neugebauer

Formerly of York University, Robynne Neugebauer, a sociology professor at Carleton University in Ottawa, died suddenly on Sept. 8, 2007. She was 47.

A graduate of York’s PhD Program in Sociology,  Neugebauer (BA ’82, PhD ’96) held a teaching appointment in the Department of Sociology from 1996 to 2001. She has been described as a gifted and passionate teacher, and a scholar who focused on social justice issues.

Prof. Neugebauer was much loved by her family, friends, students and colleagues who will gather to celebrate her life on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2pm, at the Willowdale SDA Hall, 555 Finch Avenue West, Toronto (behind Branson Hospital).

All members of the University and its wider community who wish to join in this celebration are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in the form of toiletries for Yellow Brick House will be gratefully received on that day.
