Lions volleyball teams set to play host to special event

Feb 5, 2008

On Saturday, Feb. 9, from 12 to 4pm, the York Lions volleyball teams will pay tribute to York alumni during a special doubleheader game when they battle the Ottawa Gee-Gees and the Windsor Lancers at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

Sport York’s Alumni Appreciation Day is a special event that recognizes the accomplishments of York University alumni. Sport York will offer free admission to all alumni as well as their families. Tickets must be pre-ordered.

In the Student Lounge there will be a live television feed for the game in the lounge so fans won’t have to miss a second of the action, (women versus the Ottawa Gee-Gees at 12pm and men versus the Windsor Lancers at 2pm), courtesy of Rogers York Region. A video-game room will also be set up just outside the main gym.

For ticket inquiries and for more information, contact Antonio Santilli, promotions & communications officer, Sport & Recreation, at ext. 55982, or by e-mail to asantili@yorku.ca. Seating is limited so order your tickets today.
