The York Lions will look to snap a nine-game winless streak against the Western Mustangs when the teams square off in a best-of-three, opening round Ontario University Athletic (OUA) men’s hockey playoff series.
The series, set to begin later this week, was determined with the results from play on Thursday, Feb. 7. The 14-10-3 Lions will be seeded sixth in the OUA West, while the 17-4-5 Mustangs will be third. The Mustangs will play host to game one before the series shifts to York for game two. Game three, if necessary, will be played at Western.
The Lions are riding a wave of momentum, having won seven of their past eight games, including an 8-1 blowout over the second-seeded Brock Badgers last Thursday at Canlan Ice Sports.
The team begins their best-of-three OUA men’s hockey opening round playoff series against the Western Mustangs on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 7pm, at Thompson Arena in London, Ont.
The series shifts to York for game two next Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2pm at Canlan Ice Sports. Game three, if necessary, will be played next Sunday, Feb. 17, at 7pm, at Western.
