Patricia Swanson, an administrative assistant in Founders College, died on Feb. 13, following a brief illness. She was 57.
Ms Swanson had been with Founders College since 1985. Well-known to the college’s Fellows, students, staff and several masters, she was a respected member of the York community. Prior to her role with Founders, Ms Swanson had been involved with convocation, alumni and fundraising through the development office. She started her career at York in the Faculty of Arts Advising Centre. She will be missed by her many colleagues on the Keele campus.
Members of the York community are invited to attend a funeral service at 9:30am today at the Fratelli Vescio Funeral Home, 8101 Weston Road (east side, between Langstaff and Highway 7). A reception will follow the service. In addition to her two sons, Gabriel and Pier, she leaves behind her mother, brother and sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ms Swanson’s memory to the Sick Kids Foundation.
Founders College will arrange a memorial service for a future date.
The flag has been lowered to half mast today in memory of Ms Swanson.
