This Friday, June 6, is Bike to Work Day across the Greater Toronto Area. To celebrate, Smart Commute – North Toronto, Vaughan, in partnership with York University’s Security, Parking & Transportation Services and Campus Services & Business Operations, is holding a special Bike to Work Day breakfast on the Keele campus, starting at 8am on Friday morning outside the William Small Centre.
Drop by for free coffee and bagels and a chance to win some great cycling prizes. The first 25 cyclists to stop by will also get a Smart Commute cycling T-shirt as a thank you for keeping the air clean by cycling to work.
Whether you regularly bike to work, or if you’d just like to try it out, Bike to Work Day offers an opportunity to get out on your bike and make your commute cleaner and smarter. Data collected by Smart Commute – North Toronto, Vaughan, shows that choosing to commute by bike instead of the car for just one day a week will reduce your transportation greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent.
