Robert Tiffin, York VP students, has announced that York alumna Jennifer Myers has accepted the position of director of Sport & Recreation, effective August 1.
Myers is a 1991 graduate of York’s Bachelor of Physical Education program as well as the Certificate in Sport Administration. She holds a master's degree in sports management from the University of Western Ontario and has experience in creating, implementing and monitoring innovative programming for varsity and intramural student athletes.

"Jennifer’s experience and enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset to developing programs and facilities that will enhance the experience and physical health of our students," said Tiffin.
She has been providing professional and community sports leadership for over 16 years. She comes to York from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB, where she was the director of athletics and recreation. She has served in senior roles at Ryerson University and the University of Western Ontario, and has a national perspective through her role as president of the Atlantic College Athletic Association and as a representative to the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association eligibility committee and the Canadian Interuniversity Sport national program committee.
Myers will be in charge of 23 interuniversity teams, more than 400 interuniversity athletes as well as the fitness & recreation program at York.
“It’s an amazing opportunity and I am thrilled to be coming back to my alma mater,” Myers said. “It will be a great challenge and I am really looking forward to stepping into this position.”
