York Lions tennis stars Mikhail Lew and Joelle Fisher will share courts with the sport’s biggest stars on Friday and Saturday when they represent Ontario in the second annual University and College National Championship at the Rexall Centre.

Taking place during the Rogers Cup professional men’s event on York’s Keele campus, the University and College National Championship brings together eight of the top Canadian-born men and women from post-secondary institutions.
Lew, who went 20-0 in June, is the second seed in the men’s draw and will face Sean Friedrich of the University of Alberta on Friday at the conclusion of a 10am match, in the first round on Court 2. Lew is the top-ranked player in the current Ontario open rankings
Fisher, competing in the event for the second year in a row, squares off with Dredi-Inia Ghinda of Quebec on Friday, at the conclusion of a 10am match, in the first round on Court 5.
The semi-finals go Friday afternoon with the finals on tap for Saturday. A webcast of the finals will be available at www.tenniscanada.com.
