Lions to play exhibition game for cancer research

The York Lions women’s basketball team will take on the Guelph Gryphons in an exhibition game in Barrie, Ont., to support cancer research.

The tipoff is at 7pm on Thursday, Oct. 9, at St. Joan of Arc High School, 460 Mapleton Ave. Tickets are $5 each and all proceeds will go to the Royal Victoria Hospital's Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.

This game, which is being hosted by the Barrie Royals Basketball Club, marks the second straight year the York’s women’s basketball team has participated in a game for charity. Last season, the squad played a game to benefit breast cancer research.
