Werner Baumann, Switzerland's ambassador to Canada, will speak to York University students and the general public on Thursday, Oct. 30. The lecture will take place in Room 280 York Lanes from 11am to 12pm.
An experienced diplomat, Baumann held ambassadorial postings in the Philippines and Germany before he was appointed to his current position in May 2006. His topic is "Switzerland – A Small Country within/out the European Union."
This is the first presentation in the European Ambassadors at York University Lecture Series, which runs from fall 2008 to winter 2009.
