The York University Remembrance Day ceremony is held annually on Nov. 11 at the flagpole on the Harry Arthurs Common on York’s Keele campus. It is attended by faculty, staff, students and members of the off-campus community.
This year, the Remembrance Day ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 10:45am. Community members should meet in the Vari Hall Rotunda at 10:30am, at which time a piper will lead the procession to the flagpole.
Remembrance Day 2008 commemorates a special historic milestone – the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War. The ceremony also offers an opportunity to honour and remember all those who served in times of war, military conflict and peace.
