Karen Cochrane was a valued member of York's Faculty of Health

Karen Cochrane, a valued member of York's Faculty of Health, died on Friday, Nov. 28 following a battle with cancer. She was 61.

Ms. Cochrane was the beloved secretary to the chair of the Department of Psychology for more than 20 years. She leaves her husband Ken, daughter Jennifer Hawtin, son-in-law Brett and two grandchildren. An avid boater, Ms. Cochrane was known for her sunny personality and zest for life. She leaves numerous friends in both the York University and the boating communities.

A funeral service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital in Ms. Cochrane's memory.
