A portion of the TTC busway running through York’s Keele campus will open as scheduled this Sunday even though the main route along the Finch hydro corridor will be delayed due to unforeseen construction difficulties.

The portion of the new rapid bus route that runs west of Keele Avenue through the Village at York and north to York Boulevard will be open while construction crews work to overcome engineering issues associated with the TransCanada pipeline below the hydro corridor east of Keele.
The new express lane for buses between Keele campus and Downsview subway station is expected to be ready in November. When completed, the route will cut travel time to and from Downsview station to about 13 minutes from the current 20 minutes. The busway will be an interim facility that will improve the commute to York until the main event happens in 2015 when the subway extension through York's Keele campus is expected to be completed.
