The latest issue of Studio, an online international poetry journal with a focus on the cultural work of poetry in contemporary society, is now out and features the work of Barry Dempster, Brian Dundas, Douglas Kerr, Leigh Nash, Lois Roma-Deeley, Jamie Ross, Ian C. Smith and Catherine Strisik.
A peer-reviewed journal published twice a year, Studio not only publishes works of poetry, but previews of new work, translations, reviews and more, while focusing on the interdisciplinary relationships between poetry, education, cultural studies and other art forms. In future issues, Studio will expand to include poetry videos, online chapbooks and themed issues.

In this edition, the translation section showcases poetry and translations by Bosnian-Canadian Goran Simic; Douglas Kerr and Clifford Dillhunt share their insights on education in the poetry & education section; and emergent poet Leigh Nash is introduced by York English Professor Priscila Uppal.
In the reviews section, Ewan Whyte takes a look at Leonard Cohen’s latest work, Book of Longing; Kate Cayley reviews northSight by Lois Roma-Deeley; and York records manager in the Information & Privacy Office and poet Christopher Doda peeks into Craig Arnold’s Made Flesh.
There is also a preview of Annie Finch’s new book, A Poet’s Ear: A Handbook of Meter and Form. And the gallery section takes viewers to the streets of New York City to view the bronze sidewalk installations by Andrews LeFevre Studios, which feature quotations from literature and lead to the New York Public Library Humanities & Social Sciences Library.
Studio is edited by York English and education Professor Rishma Dunlop, designed by Martin Elliott and features photography by Joe Paczuski.
