Right: Stress Busters brought smiles back to these students at last year's event
The fall Stress Buster Carnival is a daylong escape, hosted by york is U, to relieve student stress during this busy time of year. Experts from York’s Health Education & Promotion share fun and interactive coping strategies for exam stress and anxiety. Students can play carnival games to win prizes, including grand prizes, by simply completing their game cards.
“York isn’t always about just studying and books,” says Palka Kakar, administrative coordinator with york is U. “Stress Buster Carnival allows students to enjoy what this University has to offer other then great education – great times.”
There will also be a photo booth, caricature artists and different circus type performers at the event, providing students with a fun and relaxing experience, away from books and lectures.
In 2003 york is U launched the Stress Buster Carnival in Winters Dining Hall where close to 50 students came out to relax. Over the years, the annual event has grown in size and scope and is now held each term. Last year’s fall event drew more than 2,000 students, making it one of York’s larger events.
