Computer Skills e-Learning courses are now available

The Learning & Development unit in the Human Resources & Employee Relations Department is offering a new series of e-Learning computer skills courses. These courses, which cover a myriad of topics, are now available to the York community.

The program offers employees the benefit of being able to access a wide range of courses with the convenience of completing them at their own pace. On average, most courses are approximately 20 hours in length and are ideal for individuals who prefer self-directed learning or who are unable to attend scheduled in-class courses held at the Microcomputer Training Centre.

To register for an e-Learning course, complete a registration form, available on the Learning & Development Web site, and be sure to indicate your course(s) of interest and forward to your direct supervisor with a copy to your CPM manager for approval. Once approved, the direct supervisor will forward your request to LDTech@yorku.ca with a copy to the CPM manager.

Courses taken during regularly scheduled work hours must be approved. Should you elect to take a course outside of regular work hours, advise your supervisor when you send him/her your registration form for approval. Similar to York’s in-class courses, completed courses will be included in an employee’s training record. Note that e-Learning accounts are limited and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you have any questions about these courses, please contact Vanessa Venditto, learning & development specialist, Learning & Development, at venditto@yorku.ca.
