Get out of the cold and get “health smart” by checking out York’s annual Health Fair. Presented by Health Education & Promotion, volunteers are busy gearing up for Health Fair 2010 – an event full of ideas, information and free giveaways on how to live a healthier life for students, staff and faculty.
This year’s fair takes place Wednesday, Feb. 24, and runs from 10am to 3pm, in Vari Hall. Guests from organizations in the Greater Toronto Area will join with a number of University departments to offer a comprehensive health information fair that will focus on areas related to health and well-being, including healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and healthy sexuality. Some of the participants in this year's fair include Sheena's Place, Sport York and Counselling & Disability Services. Other exhibitors of interest to staff, faculty and students include Toronto Public Health – Eat Smart! and Canadian Blood Services.
Visitors to the health fair will be encouraged to drop by the exhibitors booth and receive a sticker on a "Bingo Card". Once two lines of stickers have been collected, visitors will be able to enter a prize draw for a chance to win some great prizes courtesy of Blueberry Hill, the York University Bookstore, Kliks and other vendors. There will also be plenty of free giveaways.
This event is sponsored by Health Education & Promotion, located within the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development.
