York Prof. Emeritus John S. Saul will read from his latest book tomorrow

York Professor Emeritus John S. Saul will read from a chapter in his latest book, Revolutionary Traveller: Freeze-Frames from a Life (Arbeiter Ring Publishing, 2009) at the John S. Saul Interdisciplinary African Studies Seminar, the seminar series named in his honour.

The talk, "On the Move: A Life in African Studies", will take place Wednesday, March 3, from 2:30 to 4pm at 305 Founders College.

Revolutionary Traveller draws upon some of the articles Saul has written over a span of 40 years (see YFile, Feb. 5). A longtime campaigner for economic justice in Africa, Saul has taught as a political science professor at York since 1973, and cumulatively, for almost a decade in Africa, including in Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa. He is currently working on a short analytical history of South Africa and a study of the worldwide anti-apartheid, liberation support movement since 1945.

The event is sponsored by the York University Bookstore and the Founders College Master's Office. Light refreshments will be served.
