The last voting period for the best lecturer in TVOntario’s 2010 Big Ideas Best Lecturer Competition will start at 8am today and run until 8pm on Sunday, April 11.
Submit grades for any, or all, of this year's finalists, including the two York University professors in the running for the top spot. Voting is open to students, staff and faculty.
Archeologist and historian Karolyn Smardz Frost and human rights lecturer Nadia Habib, both from York’s Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, have already made it into the top 10, chosen from among more than 300 nominated lecturers across Ontario. (See YFile, Feb. 10.)
Now it’s up to the York University community to make sure one of them takes home the overall title. If either Professor Habib or Professor Smardz Frost wins, not only will York own bragging rights as the winning school with the number one lecturer in the province, but the University will also get a $10,000 TD Insurance Meloche Monnex scholarship.
There are two ways to vote for Ontario’s Best Lecturer, online at TVO or by calling 1-877-792-VOTE (8683).
Voting online will give the voter the chance to win a $5,000 grand prize pack of a laptop, HD camcorder, digital SLR still camera, an iPod touch and an iTunes gift card.
The winner will be announced on Saturday, April 17.
