Fans of the York University Lions can take advantage of an exclusive ticket offer for two Buffalo Bills games to be played in Toronto this season thanks to a new partnership between the York Lions and the Bills Toronto Series.
The Buffalo Bills, one of 32 teams in the National Football League (NFL), will be at Toronto’s Rogers Centre twice this season – for a pre-season game against last year's Super Bowl runner-up the Indianapolis Colts, on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7:30pm and then for a regular-season contest against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1pm. Fans in attendance at York Lions' home football games will also have the opportunity to see the Bills take on the Bears as two tickets will be up for grabs at each of the York home football games this season.
"The York Lions football program is entering a new era with the hiring of head coach Warren Craney and this exclusive ticket offer is a way that we can thank our loyal fans for their continued support and give them a chance to see the NFL up close," said Richard Parkinson, Sport & Recreation York’s associate director, business & marketing.
This is the third straight year the Buffalo Bills will play a regular-season game in Toronto, and the two upcoming contests are part of a group of eight games played in Canada over five years.
The Lions will begin play for the 2010 season on Monday, Sept. 6, with a home game against the University of Guelph Gryphons at York Stadium beginning at 1pm. Their remaining three home contests will be against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sept. 11, the McMaster University Marauders on Oct. 2 and the University of Western Ontario Mustangs on Oct. 16, with all games beginning at 1pm.
