The student-athletes’ next few weeks will be full of team meetings and practices as the squad prepares for the upcoming season under the direction of new head coach Warren Craney, who has already begun putting his own stamp on the team.

Returning players and recruits alike will be learning new offensive and defensive schemes with recently hired coordinators Michael Faulds and Eric Laflamme taking over on either side of the ball.

Two-a-day practices will continue until Thursday, Aug. 26. The Lions will then have an off day as they travel to Quebec City for an exhibition game against the Laval University Rouge et Or on Sunday, Aug. 29, at 1pm at the Laval University Sports & Physical Education Pavilion Stadium.

The team will then return home for the 2010 season opener against the University of Guelph Gryphons on Monday, Sept. 6, beginning at 1pm at York Stadium.
